Light a Future was born with the aim of securing the futures of Sri Lankan children in face of a looming economic crisis that has left mothers and fathers facing severe financial struggles in supporting their children’s education.
The initiative and its founding partners Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement and Atlas, work with the long-term vision of continuously uplifting the education accessibility in the country to ensure no child is left behind and have thus far collectively supported over 1.2 million children at a grassroot level.
Its flagship project, Light a Future currently aims to empower 100,000 vulnerable children, helping them stay in school by providing them essential learning tools and will continue to identify and provide hope to those in need via its collective and extensive reach across the island.
Help Light a Future by pledging your support to its current project focused on providing urgent relief to 100,000 children to ensure no child is left behind.
Light a Future is a project that aims to help children in Sri Lanka continue their education amidst a severe economic and humanitarian crisis. It is spearheaded by the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement alongside Atlas, with the goal of helping 100,000 children from the most vulnerable families in Sri Lanka to stay in school by providing them with essential learning materials for the school year.
Guided by the shared philosophy of alleviating poverty while championing education and learning in Sri Lanka, the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement together with Atlas are the main driving forces of the Light a Future project.
